The Bourke is a facinating Grass Parakeet that has many mutations. Like all Grass Parakeets they originate in Australia. It is most likely the hardiest of the Grass Parakeets. The most common mutations are the Rosey, Pink, and the Cream also known as the Yellow. Pinks are attained by crossing the Rosey and the Cream. Unlike most Grass Parakeets these birds become more active at dusk and at dawn. Bourkes have a gentle personality and are relatively easy to breed. These birds are great for beginners looking to breed Grass Parakeets. |
