The Scarlet-Chested Parakeet also known as the Splendid Parakeet is a beautiful bird. Some say it is a delicate member of the Grass Parakeets family, however with proper housing and nutrition these birds can thrive. There are many mutations of the scarlet ranging from a beautiful lutino to a white-fronted blue, and various other mutations. The bright colors of this bird make it stand out in any aviary.

Here are some pictures of my Scarlet Chested Parakeets.
Here at Ray's Aviary I am currently working with the following scarlet chested parakeet mutations: Normal /wild type cinnamon Full red fronted Lutinos White fronted blues Turquoise Blues (White fronted BlueTurquoise) Turquoise (par-blues) Pallids Combinations: Cinnamon pallid(Goldenyellow) Albinos ( whited fronted blue X lutino) Creams (Turquoise X lutino) Pallid turquoise The price for the Red fronted varies according to the amount of red on the lower belly. Almost every person that observes these beautiful birds wants to add them to their collection. You will not be dissappointed with these wonderful birds! Their colors are piercing to the eye! The Scarlets have a deep blue iridescence on the feathers around the head and throat that is captivating and stunning against their scarlet red chest. |
